Comparison of variants for the dismantling of reactor building and special water treatment facility
The RheinsbergNuclear Power Plant was planned in the 1950s and commissioned in 1966; the plant was finally shut down in 1990. At the beginning of the nineties, the application for the decommissioning and dismantling of the Rheinsbergnuclear power plant was compiled, a cost and time estimate for all necessary work was drawn up and agreed with the shareholder. In April 1995, the competent nuclear supervisory authority of the German federal state of Brandenburg granted the license for the decommissioning and partial dismantling of the Rheinsbergnuclear power plant. VPC was commissioned to provide engineering services for the preparation of a comparison of variants for the dismantling of the reactor building and the special water treatment facility under controlled area conditions.
